Demonstrate proficiency in clinical processes across major inpatient and outpatient departments, serving as the main point of contact for the client on all medical planning issues.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of a client\\\'s program requirements, standards and policies for incorporation into an effective design solution.
Provide overall programming, master planning, medical planning and design.
Demonstrate an understanding and empathy for patient and staff experiences to maximize a quality experience and environment
Lead discussions with end users to outline process flows and critical adjacencies of clinical rooms and departments, and define medical equipment plan needs.
Assist client with determining proper organization and layout of hospital departments.
Manage the deliverables for the medical planning team within the greater project deliverable schedule, providing plan layout of clinical spaces and medical equipment.
Conduct research, complete data analysis, and develop reports.
May be responsible for technical coordination for specific aspects of project work and for consultants to the project.
Strategize, prioritize, develop and lead Post Occupancy Evaluations (POEs)
Provide joy-evoking design thinking to inform and energize the project team, adhering to scope, budget and deadlines.
Create clear, compelling conceptual narratives to guide the project teams work from concept through construction.
Go beyond ideation to contribute as a practical developer of design solutions, maintaining engagement throughout project lifecycle to ensure design concepts are continued.
Engage clients in discussions that respectfully challenge and expand their ideas about appropriate design solutions.
Guide necessary research to provide a thorough understanding of client needs, leading to responsive design solutions.
Utilize and encourage best uses of technology for design, presentation and production purposes, ensuring that all graphic representations and construction documents convey design intent.
Act as a steward of design intent, remaining vigilant throughout projects to ensure that design goals are maintained and undiluted throughout project lifecycle.
Foster an environment with a commitment to team collaboration, meaningful design and exceptional client service.
Serve as a mentor for the design staff in sharing design knowledge with the entire office on design standards, practices and policies.
Business Development + Marketing
Establish and maintain close relationships with clients to win new and repeat business.
Strategize with market directors, marketing team and leadership on Business Development approach in general, and for specific opportunities.
Identify trends in the healthcare industry and formulate the impact to our value proposition.
Work with marketing to prepare presentations and participate in client interviews. Assist in developing strategies for approaching potential clients.
|Qualifications:|| Knowledge expert and clinical proficiency across both inpatient and outpatient services.|
Understand the differences in institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environments.
Demonstrated design approach that is based in research and evidence to bring value through creative solutions.
Specialize in medical facility planning, programming, medical equipment planning, and report writing.
Familiarity with planning metrics over diverse medical departments.
Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills to establish and nurture client relationships.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture at an accredited university required.
EDAC certification required.
Advanced credentials desired (e.g. ACHA, LEED, etc.)
10 years of Medical Planning experience focused on a variety of healthcare projects - new acute care or ambulatory facilities, additions or renovations and/or large-scale complex healthcare campuses required
Experience with Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Proficiency with Revit is required.
Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects.
Must be willing to travel.
